Lightdouse in Haines

Food was decent. Ate there several times during visit to Haines. Staff friendly service was good.

My friend Donna loved the fish &chips.

I dislike giving one star reviews, but hopefully the owner will take note and make improvements. We ordered Soup, Garlic bread and an omelette. Soup came our right a way. But a bit cool. We waited a good 15min for the bread and omelette to arrive. The omelette was of poor quality and covered with way too much cheese. Don't you think the soup and bread would come at the same time? Even better, have all three dishes arrive at the same time!

Reviews are correct. Seafood chowder IS excellent. Service is incredibly slow - bring a BOOK, you'll finish it. First time waited 45 mins for a baked potato and bowl of lukewarm soup. 2nd visit the entire section by the windows was reserved and the waitress allowed a patron to reserve a table as an afterthought just as we were about to sit down at it. The only table left had one only one chair so the best they could do is suggest we sit at the bar. We left for the Fireweed Restaurant which was very good and fast. Can't say how the other food is, never got that far. The 2 stars is for the soup.

Good food and friendly staff. Good place to spend time if you are waiting for the Alaska Marine Highway ferry. Small dining area.

Food was good!

I had a nice fresh halibut and fries dinner that I enjoyed with a glass of Alaskan beer. A very established older restaurant that was quite peaceful when I was there. Local workers and that always makes the visit better. Stop in and mind your manners says me.

The Halibut fish and chips are delicious . Cooked perfectly!

Food is great! This place is definitely overlooked. It was a jem for us. Everything we have tried was awesome food.

Their creole dish is five stars perfect. Whenever I return to Haines, I want to order this entree again. The atmosphere is family friendly, hometown Maritime and is worth the visit.

Service was a bit slow but friendly. Food was good and had attached bar area for drinks and pool. Great view, right near the water.

We we're hungry and it was open... There are not many fresh vegetable options..

I don't eat out much so hadn't been to this restaurant in a long time. I knew it was recently remodeled so thought I'd check it out. I had a halibut linguine dish that was really good and portion was huge. I will go here again and recommend.

Horrible service, took 1 and 1/2 hours to get a salad. I won't return, for sure.

The food was quite good and the view over the harbor was great. The restaurant itself is a bit tired and austere.

Best seafood chowder, and big pieces of fish for their fish and chips. By far the best soup I've had all of Alaska and Yukon!

Restaurant has new owners since last year & they have cleaned it up👍 great hamburger selection & good tasting, Ruben good, do order the fries/onion rings, fried chicken outside breading good, but skin under it was RAW so not unacceptable....couldn’t eat even though chicken inside was cooked??? Service is slow, but nice staff & view.

Decent restaurant. Well cooked food and friendly service. However, price and timeliness weren't the best.

The wait staff is and was exceptional. The food and chef very good. Atmosphere open, bright and inviting. All in all a wonderful meal and experience.

They were overwhelmed, today, when our cruise ship arrived unexpectedly, but they stayed open, slinging fish and chip baskets with salmon and halibut. Delicious!

Nice, friendly place right on the waterfront. You can watch the cruise ships while eating. Burgers are good, the Chowder and Ruben soup, don't know what a Ruben is but it good

Best Fish and Chips Ever!!!! Poor waitress was stretched too thin but we just relaxed and waited our turn....it was worth the wait.
